Selecon's CEO Jeremy Collins got the theatrical lighting bug early: when he was a young man in New Zealand he received a technical internship at the country's largest theatre, the Mercury Theatre in Auckland. After spending six years lighting plays, musicals, and operas, he left his home hemisphere for the UK. However, when Walter Coleman, the president of Selecon, invited him to join the company in 1979, he accepted the invitation.
